The master bedroom in this home is a retreat designed to feel like the suite of a luxury hotel, with fine washable hotel bedding and comfortable chaise lounge chairs that face the patio and pool. We love the artistic accessories that complement the artwork, and the family dog painting is sweet and meaningful to the homeowners. With a space like this, a stay-cation would be a welcoming treat!

Our homeowner enjoys his guitar collection, but they were stored in a closet in their prior home. Our interior design was inspired by our desire for him to be able to look at his prized collection and have them accessible for playing at any time. The desk faces the display wall, clad in cork wallpaper with brass embedded flakes, for ongoing pleasure, and is a favorite of our client!

Our clients wanted formal seating for 12 in this Rancho Palos Verdes dining room, and asked us to create a space with European-influenced furnishings and objets d’art, with major elements of contemporary design. Rancho Palos Verdes Living Room–Before
Our relationship with this lovely couple from Rancho Palos Verdes began when they fell in love with our ceiling detail in a Showcase family room we did in 2013. When they finally got their dream home in 2017, we designed this living room to suit their request that it look contemporary and on the level of Showcase grandeur, with elegance and comfort. They were so pleased with this result!

In the corner, a game table was placed with contemporary game chairs with curvaceous backs and leather handles and casters for detail and ease of movement. Subtle gold paint on the ceiling, soft upholstery lines, vivid pillows and occasional seating had a backdrop of inventive casegoods. Shimmering sheer window treatments softened the walls and added high drama!

The former atrium was completely demolished to become a cool, jazzy lounge area adjacent to the billiard room. Dramatic tile in black marble with an undulating brass inset pattern flanked our built-in bar of antique glass, brass and glass shelving and black cabinetry. Soft, subtly metallic sheer window treatments covered one wall, while French doors were treated with a bold print opposite our lead tile.
Cool, Jazzy Lounge--After

We were inspired by the reclaimed wood coffee table, and added cheerful prints and iron details for a sophisticated coastal appeal. Our linen custom window treatments were fresh and crisp, and our roman shades were softly upscale. Even the floor lamp was an important choice, to balance the room.

Entertaining with ease was the goal of the sophisticated bar design, and thoughtfully placed conversation areas added comfort. The high-low table was beautiful and functional, while the window treatments played up the gorgeous views.

We especially like the window treatment topper we made to look like shutters that close off a beach house window for a storm. Playful, cheerful colors and plenty of storage for toys really made the room a hit for all!

The fireplace in this Sherwood Shores home was on the far right of the wall, which made it less than ideal for television placement and balance in the room. Centered and with a more significant fireplace surround and mantle made the room much more comfortable for seating and aesthetics. Dramatic window treatments visually enlarged the room and softened the setting.

Montecito elegance of warm, distressed, timeless wood finishes were combined with a contemporary flair that made this office a delight to work in, with plenty of hidden functionality. Living in Montecito is all about the mild comfort of the outdoors, and we wanted to play up the home’s assets with an exquisite patio that offers all the comfort of an indoor living room. Outdoor fabrics have come a long way and are simply stunning, especially combined with our furnishings in reclaimed teak, heavy wicker and petrified wood, accented with an antiqued mirror and lovely pottery and plants.

We redesigned the fireplace, removed the built-ins and plantation shutters that hid dramatic windows, added new flooring and darkened up the ceiling and beams. Our window treatments, furnishings and lighting are pretty spectacular too!

We opened the area up with an iron rail and covered the stairway, treads and far wall in beautiful grey/beige/blue stone. Like lipstick and a dramatic earring, the art and wood and iron chandelier make a remarkable statement. Juxtaposed with the heavy, distressed, round table are the sleek, updated chairs.

The sectional in the family room in the before shot was a barrier to the view, and chopped the room up. Our redesign provided plenty of seating with a lighter feel, and the chairs swivel toward the lake as well. The best feature of the home was 180 degrees of lake view; we enhanced this feature with soft sheer panels that can be moved any direction, mounted on continuous iron hardware. What a difference!
